The Offshore Technology Conference is the world’s foremost event for the development of offshore resources, primarily oil and natural gas, in the fields of drilling, exploration, production, and environmental protection. It is a conference and exhibition which started in 1969 and was since then held annually until today during the first week of May. Reliant Park, formerly Astrodomain, a complex in Houston, Texas, United States, named after the energy company Reliant Energy, is where it is always being held.

This event is the largest petroleum sector trade show in the whole world, ranking among the largest 200 trade shows annually in the United States and is among the ten largest meeting in terms of attendance. There is usually more than 50,000 people participating, and more than 2,000 companies participating in the exhibition, coming from all over the world. The recent conferences were represented by more than 110 countries.
This year, APPEA shall no longer hold APPEA National Environment Conference and the APPEA Safety Conference. Instead, the new SPE/APPEA International Conference on Health Safety & Environment in Oil and Gas Exploration will take their place.
